Africa Capitals Quiz: Printable Worksheets

A two-part printable capitals quiz for Africa. Sheet 1 gives the country and asks for the capital; sheet 2 flips it, giving shuffled capital cities and asking for the country. The answer key covers both.

There are 54 countries on the sheets. Where a country has more than one capital, the sheets use the best-known one and the answer key notes the detail, for example Burundi: Gitega (political capital; Bujumbura is the largest city).

How to use these quiz sheets

  • Learn in chunks. Cover half the list and quiz yourself on the other half before attempting the full sheet.
  • Quick test. Give sheet 1 as a five-minute starter, then sheet 2 a few days later to see what stuck.
  • Add a map. Use the numbered Africa map so pupils place each capital's country first.
  • Check as you go. The key lists the whole table, and you can see all of them on the capital cities list too.

Capitals with a catch

Burundi: Gitega (political capital; Bujumbura is the largest city).

How to print

Press the print button, then choose A4 or Letter in the print dialog and keep the scale at 100% (not "fit to page" with extra margins). Each sheet is designed to fill one page with a small margin on either size, and your browser's headers and footers can be switched off in the same dialog. Prefer a file? Download the PDF at the top.
