My name is ... in Korean
Korean marks politeness in the verb ending, so the same sentence changes shape depending on who you are talking to. Start with the formal version until someone invites you to relax.

A short introduction
- A: 안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo)
- A: 이름이 뭐예요? (ireumi mwoyeyo?)
- B: 제 이름은 ___입니다 (je ireumeun ___ imnida)
Pronunciation and tips
- The topic particle is 은 after a word that ends in a consonant (이름은) and 는 after one that ends in a vowel (저는).
- Koreans usually say the family name first when giving a full Korean name, but foreigners are expected to give their own name in the usual order.
- Say the ending -입니다 as "im-ni-da": the ㅂ turns into an m sound before ㄴ.
