Number Race

Tap the digit for a number word before the clock runs out.

How to play

Number words from one to ten appear in different languages. Tap the matching digit as fast as you can, or type it on your keyboard (0 is ten). You have 45 seconds.

Difficulty

Easy uses numbers 1 to 5 in familiar Latin-script languages. Medium uses 1 to 10 in all languages with the romanisation shown. Hard uses 1 to 10 in native script only.

Scoring

Each right answer is +1 and each wrong answer is -1, never going below zero.

Daily puzzle, unlimited mode and challenges

Easy, Medium and Hard each have their own daily puzzle, the same for everyone and renewed at midnight UTC. A tick on the tab means you have finished it. Unlimited gives endless fresh puzzles at the difficulty you choose. After a game you can copy your result or challenge a friend to the same puzzle.

Phrases are cross-checked against independent sources but still await a native-speaker review. Language sources.

Questions

Is the sequence the same for everyone?

Yes. The same date and level give everybody the same sequence, so scores can be compared.

Which number forms do you use?

Counting forms. In Hebrew we use the feminine counting forms, and in Japanese the native-style yon and nana.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is free and needs no sign-up. The site sets no cookies. Daily results, streaks and personal bests are saved only in your own browser.

How does Challenge a friend work?

When you finish, tap Challenge a friend, optionally type a name (up to 12 characters) and send the link. It holds the game, difficulty, puzzle, your name and score, so your friend plays the same puzzle and sees who won. Nothing is stored on a server.
