Neighbour Rush: Speed Tips for Naming Bordering Countries
Neighbour Rush gives you one country and a countdown. You must tap or type every country that shares a land border with it. A system matters more than raw speed.
Scan in a circle
Start at north and work clockwise around the country. This stops you from missing a small country on one side while you hunt for the big ones. Use the number shown ("it has 6 land neighbours") as your checklist.
Know the heavyweights
The most neighbours in the game: Russia and China (14 each), then Germany (9). If your country is one of these, expect to need most of your time. Smaller countries like Portugal (1) or Spain (3 in this map data, because Portugal, France and Andorra) are easy wins.
Watch for small neighbours
The traps are tiny countries wedged between big ones: Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, Vatican City. They show as small dots on the map, and you can also type their names into the box instead of tapping.
Penalties and timing
On Easy you have 60 seconds. On Medium 45. On Hard 40 seconds, and every wrong tap also takes 3 seconds off. Each wrong tap costs one point from your score of 10.
The clock starts when you press Start
Study the map first, zoom in if you like, and only then press the button.
Frequently asked questions
What if I mix up two countries?
A wrong tap flashes red and costs a point (and 3 seconds on Hard). Keep going.
What counts as a neighbour?
Countries must share a land border of more than a single point. Disputed borders follow the Natural Earth map.
